We live in a world where a large portion of the population is obese and dying from over consumption of food, while another large portion are dying from starvation and malnutrition. All the while 40% of the food produced in the US is being wasted. 

 

How can such a thing happen in a well functioning economy? Nothing about this is economical. 

 

When I see these type of statistics, I get boiled up thinking about what "they" can do to change policies and food supply chains in order to conserve food as well as conserve the amount of energy going in to food. 

 

But, as you will see in this episode, the most important factor in food waste is ME. I have to do MY part to reduce the amount of food that I waste first, because half of all food waste happens in the home. 

 

Today, I am going to give you five tips to reduce food waste and maybe even save some money in the process.
