Today is "Black Friday" a holiday in the United States that follows Thanksgiving (and has actually started to begin on Thanksgiving day) where Americans flock by the millions to retail stores to take advantage of temporary sales and get their Christmas shopping done.
Over the last 10 years the post-Thanksgiving shopping frenzy has increased in intensity. Today many stores are open on Thanksgiving day to get the shopping started early.
If you participate in the madness, I am passing no judgement, more power to you!. However, today I want to talk about the slow shift that I continue to witness in our society towards INCREASED consumption of material things, most of which we could live without and less value placed on the things that really matter like family, friends, health, community, and fulfillment.
Today, I just want to encourage you to evaluate your relationship with material possessions and consider whether you are truly investing your time, energy, and money into the things that you consider the highest value aspects of your life.
Hope you enjoy the show!!
